2016 Annual Meeting

oahu_outline_10_whiteAnnual Meeting on February 13, 2016 was a great success!

Our  2016 annual meeting took place on Oahu on Saturday, February 13, 2016, 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

The meeting was held at Windward Community College’s Hale Akoakoa with the theme of Collection Quandaries.  The topic were of interest both to collections professionals of archives as well as libraries and museums and our conference was well attended!

There were three panel presentations in the morning, followed by a lunchtime keynote by Noelani Arista, and ended with our annual business meeting.  There was an optional library tour following the meeting which gave members a glimpse at the beautiful library facility at WCC.   To see more details of the day see the AHA 2016 annual meeting schedule!  
 Here was our panel line-up:
  • “Rights and reproductions” (Barbara Pope/Barbara Pope Book Design; DeSoto Brown/Bishop Museum Archives)
  • “Planning a new collections space” (Dawn Sueoka/Shangri-La; Janel Quirante/’Ulu’ulu Moving Image Archive; Joy Holland/Kona Historical Society)
  • “Balancing access and restrictions” (Gina Vergara-Bautista/Hawaii State Archives; Maile-Loo Ching/Hula Preservation Society; Stuart Ching/Congregation of the Sacred Hearts Archives)
